Appearance;

The Fire Nation's princess is about average height for her age, maybe a little smaller. She is typically described as pretty or even beautiful. Her facial features are refined and sharp. She looks very mature compared to her true age. Azula has long, dark brown (almost black) hair that hangs down to her rear when its down. Usually, though, she keeps her hair up in a neat top knot, held in place with her royal hairpin. Her bangs hang down on either side of her face, framing it. Her eyes are a piercing gold color, much like the rest of the members of her family. Unlike the other girls her age in the series, Azula wears a little makeup in almost all of her appearances. As for her attire, it varies, but is typically leather armor. In season two her armor is primarily red but in the third it is primarily black. She is also seen wearing a red silk robe around the palace and as pajamas, a bright red two-piece swimsuit and a pretty red party dress. She doesn't have many colors other than red in her wardrobe. It just comes with her heritage. While infiltrating Ba Sing Se, though, she is seen in a (stolen!) Kyoshi warrior uniform and a modified Dai Li uniform, both of which are green. (Azula's wardrobe is Christmas colored!)

Personality;

Azula is definitely not your typical princess. She is often cruel and very ruthless. She shows little to no empathy for anyone or anything. In her eyes, the weak deserve to be taken advantage of. She holds an air of arrogance over most people and wears a mask over her true feelings, most often concealing them completely. This doesn't mean she never lets her emotions through, though. In some cases, she simply doesn't know how to properly express her feelings. Azula will never settle for anything less than perfection and is very self-confident. Her perfectionist nature is so strong that it could potentially be a fatal flaw of hers. She is very over-competitive and will never pass up an opportunity to take someone down. She isn't above lying and conniving to get her way, though. Azula frequently passes total lies off for the truth. Because of her total superiority complex, she is often somewhat sarcastic as well.

She may seem stable, but Azula is most definitely not as stable as she thinks she is. From years of training, she has learned to cope, barely even realizing she has any issues at all. She does have problems in normal social situations, most notably her complete inability to converse members of the opposite gender without scaring them off. To put it lightly, if it doesn't involve world conquest, she's not very good at it. She may not admit it but Azula is sensitive about her mother. According to Azula, her mother liked Zuko more than her and thought of the young princess as a monster. Whether this is true or not can be disputed but it still effects Azula more deeply than she realizes.

Azula feels the need to be in control of everything around her, she is extremely manipulative. She is very good at reading people and predicting their actions. She believes trust is for fools and that fear is the only reliable way to control people, even the ones she thinks are closest to her. When she loses control, which is a very rare occurrence, Azula grows extremely paranoid.
